Rufus Sewell appears to be mourning the loss of his last TV character.

After appearing in a plethora of costume dramas, the 43-year-old actor finally had a role he could sink his teeth into as as enigmatic Italian detective Aurelio Zen in the short-lived BBC series, 'Zen'.

Although the series was cancelled after just one season, it looks like Sewell has taken the character's penchant for sharp suits and cool cars to heart.

He spent Saturday tooling around LA in a vintage red Alfa Romeo Spider convertible. It wasn't the car alone that made Sewell seem like his former character; his ensemble was pure Zen as well.

Wearing a well-fitted pin-striped suit, white shirt, skinny black tie and dress shoes, he looked every inch the LA smoothie.

He seemed proud of his fashion sense, stopping to grab a coffee and show off his overcoat to a few friends at the Oak Gourmet in Los Feliz.

Next up for the British star is a plum part in director Timur Bekmambetov's 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'. In the film, after Lincoln's mother is killed by supernatural creatures, he decides to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers. The movie was shot earlier this year in New Orleans, Louisiana and co-stars Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
